G'day Paul,
Resolving The Mindset Riddle just arrived and working my way through it with lots of energy. Thankyou for it.

I watched the short video on fear and then went through to this one on anger which I'd seen previously.

It's been easy for me to suppress anger for years - mainly at myself, but after a heavy argument 2 days ago, I applied the info from this one as I worked up a sweat digging out tree roots yesterday, imagining as I swung the axe and mattock it was the person with whom I'd argued......... FELT GREAT.

For most of my life until 39 I had a great fear of heights when on a tall building or the edge of deep natural thing such as a ravine, valley, or even in a jet aircraft. Man – looking down scared me sh******.

The gut was in turmoil and I had a wish to throw myself off or jump out. Obviously didn’t ! To overcome the fear, I decided at 39 to learn to fly and had a 20+ year career on mainly seaplanes. [http://seaplaneflight.com/ ]

Still not too keen on the edge of tall buildings, but with over 3500 water landings logged flying has no fear ! Good Result.

Love your work.
Cheers

Neurological evidence suggest that the more we do something, we "practice" it the better we get at it. Therefore, this activity is not supported with the current scientific information. Maybe a few time to get "in touch" with it, ie. increase emotional tolerance, but the aim is to get someone to feel, but not act on. There are other ways of using up the chemicals released when we get angry, ie. exercise. AND the converse must happen, increase patience, compassion, tolerance and then these become the "practised" responce, and anger is not generated. The danger that if it is practiced then one day, with stress or confrontation the frountal cortex will not have enough time to intercede and you will act out with anger.

Thanks Paul,

An important topic that we all experience at some time during our life. Your answers are incisive and to the point. However, it now opens the topic of "How to determine your self worth" as one of the steps in overcoming procrastination.

Best wishes
